James M. “Jim” Watch of Warwick, NY, a Past Commissioner of Public Works for the Town of Warwick, entered into rest on Monday, January 3, 2011. He was 65. The son of the late Frederick and Jessie Dudgeon Watch, he was born October 26, 1945 in Sussex, NJ. Jim was a graduate of Warwick Valley High School and he attended college in Nebraska. He was a US Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Marcy Acres Hunting Club, Brady Mountain Hunting Club, Superintendent of Highways of Orange County. He was the Green Chairman at the Warwick Valley Country Club. An avid football fan he was a running back for the Warwick Valley High School and was the first one to be inducted into the Warwick Valley Football Hall of Fame. Survivors include: Daughter Heidi Scott and husband Frazier of Kernersville, NC; Daughter Tricia Watch of Greenville, NY; Sister Barbara Zuk, Brother and best friend Herbert Watch and wife Beverly; His 3 grandchildren by whom he was known as Pop-Pop , Mackenzie, Mitchell, and Madison; Companion Lynne Nilsestuen; a niece and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 AM on Friday January 7, 2011 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home 690 Co. Rt. 1 Pine Island, NY 10969. The Reverend Chris Yount will officiate. Burial will be in Unionville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
