June 1, 1936 - March 7, 2017 Warwick, NY Kenneth L. Henderson of Warwick, NY founder and owner of Country Dream Restaurant Edenville, entered into rest on Monday March 7, 2017 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. He was 80. The son of the late Louis J. and Beulah M. Shader Henderson he was born June 1, 1936 in Newark, NJ. Ken was a honorary member of the Amity Fire Co., Past President of both Warwick Little League and Pee Wee Football, past Scout Master for the Troop from St. Peter Church, Little York, a social member of PLAV Post 16 Pine Island, and past president of Orange County Trapping Association. He was also a collector of Indian Artifacts. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time with all his buddies especially "Jack" his right hand. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at St. Anthony Hospital for all they did for Ken and his family. More Video: Odyssey of the Mind New York Region V Tournament - Abby Kadus. She is a fourth-grader at Park Avenue Elementary School in the Warwick district. He is survived by his wife, Kate Henderson at home; sons: Scott Henderson and wife, Maureen of Greenville, Kenneth Henderson Jr. and wife, Kim of Greentown, PA, Lonny Henderson and wife, Kelly of Mcafee, NJ, John Howell Warwick, NY; grandchildren: Jessica, Britney, Kristen, Amanda, Nicole, Megan, Brianna, Camrine, Kailee; four great-grandchildren; brother, William Henderson and wife, Geri of Goshen; sisters, Dolores Evans and husband, Kenneth of Warwick, and Penny Robins and husband, Mike of Reno, NV; brother, Donald Ernhout and wife, Sue of Reno, NV and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irene Scheuermann Henderson; daughter, Holly Henderson Gould and brothers, Frank and Louie Henderson. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 Co. Rt. 1, Pine Island, NY 10969. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday March 10 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Amity Fire Co. 675 Co.
