ONEONTA — Hartley G. Paffenroth, 68, of Oneonta, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Bassett Hospital, following a three-month illness. He was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Warwick, NY and served his country in the Armed Forces from 1956 to 1969. Hartley was a 22-year resident of Oneonta and an employee of The Daily Star newspaper. He was also a member of Woodhaven Golf Club in Oneonta. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Ruth Ann; his five children, Laura Hendricks, Andrew Paffenroth, David Paffenroth, Victoria McDonald and Bryden Miller; and eight grandchildren. There will be no funeral services. Contributions may be made in memory of Hartley G. Paffenroth to Catskill Area Hospice, 524 Main St., Oneonta, 13820.
