PAULETTE MARGO MANSELL Paulette Margo Mansell (nee Emerich) went home to be with the Lord on Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020 after a long fight with progressive supranuclear palsy. Paulette was born September 30, 1940 in New York City. Her early life was spent in Bayside Queens where she loved going out on the street and playing with the many children on her block. After the family moved to the country (Warwick, New York) because of an injury to her father who was a firefighter, she lived in Warwick until 1963. She graduated from Warwick High School and then the University of Miami. In addition to her bachelor’s degree she also obtained a Master of Education degree. She taught for one year in Cornwall, New York and then returned to Miami. Paulette taught in Miami for eight years including Liberty City where she was the beloved “Miss Emerich” to many underprivileged children. In 1972 she married Robert “Bob” Mansell and they enjoyed 48 wonderful years of marriage. When she and Bob moved to Dallas, Texas, Paulette taught in several districts in the Dallas area mainly in the Carrollton school district elementary schools. She was a Master Teacher and was recognized as such on numerous occasions. Eventually she became a Reading Recovery Teacher and traveled around Texas teaching Reading Recovery Teachers. Paulette was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Richardson, Texas. She was also a life-long sports fan and listened intently to sports radio as she drove to school each day. The Miami Hurricanes football team, Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers were her favorite teams. Her love of life and intensity with which she approached all projects were hallmarks of her personality. Paulette is survived by her husband, Bob. She is also survived by her brother Guy Emerich (Annette); nephew Matt Emerich (Alana); niece Melissa Hamner (Joe) and two great nephews, Jace and August and one great niece, Molly. She was predeceased by her father, Augustus Emerich and her mother, Gertrude Emerich. Memorial contributions in honor of Paulette can be sent to Parkinson Voice Project, 646 N. Coit Road, Ste. 2250, Richardson, TX 75080. ... from Williams funeral Obit
