Previous Page As for fifties hangouts we had Heiblim’s which was as good or better than any candy store that city kids told us about. Heiblim's was really the Warwick Novelty Shop (as the sign says) but everybody called it Heiblim's. It had a soda fountain and pinball machine and a friendly staff to say nothing of Mr. And Mrs. Heiblim's two pretty daughters, which couldn't have been bad for business.     When I was in the fifth grade at Hamilton Ave. school I would sometimes walk to Heiblim's at noon hour and meet my father for lunch. We would eat at the busy counter. There was nothing I liked more than that.     The back of this picture, below, tells the time and date that it was taken.
