- "When i was a young lad living ..."

This photo was submitted by Valerie Lucznikowska, a resident of Amity.

Valerie writes:
I presume it is L.G.Trusdell in the wagon, taken shortly before the turn of the 20th century. The building is now residential, with a photographer in the shop front. It would be nice to contrast it with a picture of the same site now - I will take my camera next weekend and hope for good weather, and send you the current shot. I think that it is his father who started the grocery store...can't remember his three initials right now, but I own the house they lived in, and they also owned a carriage works across the road where my barn is now. That info comes from the 1875 Warwick Almanac map of Amity. Please be sure to note that I am owner of the photo and that it may not be used for commercial purposes without my written permission. I don't mind if someone uses it personally. ... from Valerie Lucznikowska

When i was a young lad living in Amity in the 40's there was an elderly lady in town named Mabel Trusdell. I do not know if she was related to the owner of this store. I played and sat on the porch of this store for many a day.
